GETTING STARTED ON ELECTION WORK

Caitlin Donnelly, senior program director at Nonprofit VOTE, discussed the importance of nonprofit organizations in voter engagement work and concrete actions that nonprofits can take to increase voter turnout. Abby Ng, policy and communications coordinator at Tenants & Neighbors in New York, described how Tenants & Neighbors went about developing their voter engagement strategy, how they are implementing key tactics, and how their election work strengthens tenant leadership. Courtney Cooperman, housing advocacy organizer at NLIHC, previewed the Our Homes, Our Votes comprehensive voter engagement plan that is designed to help nonprofits determine their goals and develop a successful strategy for their campaigns.
